MEETING OF GENERAL COMMITTEE.

The General Committee of tho Mastertou A. aud P. Association met on Saturday afteruoou. Present—Messrs J. D. Cruickshauk (chairman), W. Perry, B. Rayuer, O. O. Cooper, D. McGregor, juur., J. Strang, W. McKeuzie, W. D. Watson, H. Morrison, D. Caselberg, A. G. Pilmer. G. C. Summorell, J. Morris, J. C. McKillop, T. P. Lett, R. J. Dagg, E. Harper, E. E. Chamberlain.

A suggestion was received from Mr S. G. Inder with reference to changing the system of appointing judges for A. aud P. shows aud was ordered to bo placed ou the suggestion-book.

Mr J. Sweeney wrote suggesting that tho second aud third prizes for tho champion jumpiug competition at the Show should bo increased, as the difference in value between first aud socond prizes was very great. Tho letter was "received. "

A letter was read from Mr J. Shout agreeing to superviso tho catering at the Shows for a period of three years ou terms agreed upou. Messrs P. aud D. Duucau, Booth, McDouald aud Co., ancl Reid aud Gray, implement manufacturers wrote statiug that they could uot give auy dofiuite promise with regard to exhibiting machinery, etc., at the next Mastertou show.

It was decided to add to the Farmers Classes two classos for ewes, the competition being for Messrs Thomas and Cook's cup, which is to be won twice iv succession, or three times at intervals. Tho breed of tho exhibits, which must be lougwool cross, is to be stated.

The following now members were elected:—Messrs D. G. McDouald, O. Beetham, A. P. Rawson, A. McPhee, John Hunter, T. Meredith, aud E. Williams (Te Parae).

The Fiuauce Committee's report was adopted as follows: —Dr balauce at last meeting £769 8s lid; expenditure for mouth, £62 19s lid; receipts for mouth, £59 16s; cheques outstanding £24 19s fid; dr balauce at date, £747 13s 4d. Accounts amounting to £28 2s fid were recommended for payment. The report was adopted.
