The next despatch for Canada and United States of America will leave Wellington by Manawatu train on Tiiesday, 24th December, to connect with Hauroto at Auckland. Mails close at Masterton 5.30 a.m.
The new postal regulations came into force on Ist October. Rates of postage on letters and letter-cards addressed to places beyond New Zealand are as follows:—To the United Kingdom, British possessions, and countries named in postal guide, Id for each ounce or fraction thereof, instead of, as formerly, for each half-ounce. To all other places, 2)£d for the first ounce, and for each succeeding ounce or fraction thereof, instead of for each half-ounce or fraction thereof.
