STOCK SALES.

At the Addiugfcou stock market today there was a fairly good attendance. Fat cattle, exnept very prime, were a shade easier. Fat lambs were barely up to last week's rates, and store sheep met with a limited demand. The entry of store sheep was larger than last week, but the quality was not very good, and in consequence of the continued dry weather the demand was limited, and a number of lots were passed in. The yarding of fat lambs was the largest "this season, the quality on the whole being good. There was a fair demand for export, though competition was not keeu ami prices were barely up to last week's rates. Tegs made 16s Od to 17s 10d. medium weights 14s to ifis, lighter 12s Gd to 13s Gd.
The beef supply comprised 381 head, this number being in excess of the demand. The sale was uneven throughout, and except for the better class of beef late rates were not maintained. Steers made £G to £11 17s 6d, heifers £5 to £9 17s Od, cows £5 15s to £8 10s —equal to 24s to 27s Gd for prime and 20s to 23s for medium per 1001b. Pigs were eutered in fairly large numbers, and the market opened weaker. Baconers made 48s to 60s (equal to 5d to 5%d per lb), porkers 34s to 44s (equal to per lb), choppers up to £4 ss. Fat sheep.—There was a drop in prices all round, especially in the older classes of ewes, the decline ranging from Is to 2s ahead. Extra prime wethers made 21s 9d to 235, prime wethers 18s to 20s i)d, lighter 15s Gd to 17s Gd, merino wethers 12s 6d, prime ewes 16s to 18s Gd, medium 13s to 15s 6d, aged 9s to 12s Gd.
Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report: —We had an exceptionally large yarding of cattle at Hunterville, which met with a good sale. There was a good yarding of sheep, the demand being slightly easier. Yearling steers £2 12s Gd to £3, 18-month to 2-year steers £3 to £3 ss, 2y> to 3-year steers £4 6s to £4 Bs, 3 and 4-year bullocks £5 10s, yearling heifers. 36s to 38s, 2-year heifers (empty) £2 (is fco £2 Bs, forward cows £2 14s to £3 Is, fat cows £4 5s to £4 10s, dairy cows £3 12s Gd to £5 10s, 4, G, and f.f.m. wethers 20s 2d, fat wethers 15s 2d, fat ewes 14s sd, mixed hoggets 17s Bd, wether hoggets 18s 10d. ewes and lambs 17s 9d to 20s 6d, ewes and wethers 18s sd, weaner pigs 13s. Dalgety and Co., Ltd,, report holding their first fat stock market for the season at the Seddon co-operative yards on Wednesday. There was a fair yarding of sheep, and the attendance was large, all farmers being interested as to what prices would rule compared with the opening sale Of last season. Prices for all fat stock were about on a par with opening rates last season. Fat ewes realised 11s 9d to 12s sd, fat wethers 14s to 15s Bd, fat lambs 11s to 12s, store twotooth ewes and wethers (mixed) 11s, store lambs 8s 4d, milch cow £6 Bs.
Messrs Dalgety and Co.. Ltd., report holding a sale on Mr W. Hull's farm, Kohinui, on Wednesday. There was a good attendance of settlers, and good average prices were obtained for the cows. The higest price was £7 Is. The average all round for the cows was £5 6s 6d, heifers in calf to £5 12s 6d, bulls £3. Keen competition for pigs—Slips from 15s to 245, sows in pig £2 2s to £4 Is, empty sows to £2 2s, milk cans to 18s, trap £10 10s.
