DUNEDIN, Wednesday* The body of a man was discovered to»day» face downwards in the mud, in the tidal basin behind thfc railway ! station. It was seen, yesterday, but was then mistaken for.' a bundle of rags. When the tide came in two constables and two civilians went out in a flat-bottomed boatr and with difficulty got it ashore. It proved to be the body of William M'Farlane, a plumber, aged 49. M'Farlane was married, but has recently lived away from his wife. How he got to the centre of the tidal basin is a mystery, as the mud is from ten to fourteen feet deep.
