Mr John Morley, Secretary of State for India, in reply to Mr Joseph Collinson, Secretary to the Indian Humanitarian Committee, urging him to remit flogging sentences on native Indiau youths for political offences at Calcutta, declined to take auy exceptional action regarding the sentences of tho Courts of law.
