(Received. To-day. at S.S a.m.) The King's Birthday was celebrated throughout the Empire. Sir Richard Solomon, on behalf of Transvaal, presented the Culiinan diamond to the King at Saudriughain. (The Cullman diamond, which was found in tho Johannesburg Premier Mine in 1905, weighed 3032 carats, more than three times the weight of any known diamond). (Received To-day, at 5.19 a. m.} The New York Steel Corporations has secured twenty-six million dollars worth of Stock in the Tennessee Coal, Iron and Railway Company, and has assumed management. Sir Charles Tripper, ex-Premier of Canada, has beeu created a Privy Councillor. {Received To-day, at 9.14 a.m.) An old building is beiug demolished at Parkos, two hundred and sixty-eight miles west of Sydney. The mortar is being treated by the cyanide process, in order to extract gold from the auriferous saud used. It is believed that the yield will be four pennyweights per tou.
