ONE FOR UNCLE.

-- -■♦-— Jfc A well-known tradesman, who bachelor and not a "chicken," is very fond of having his little jokes at the expense of his nephews, but the other day the nephews got straight with him. Uncle was travelling by rail the other day dressed in his Sunday best clothes, "accompanied by a spinster relative. They were seated in a compartment alone, and just as the train was moving off the nephews threw a couple of bags of confetti over their uncle and his companion, much to their confusion. At several stations en route people opened the door of the compartment with the object of getting iv, but when they saw the confetti they hurriedly withdrew, much to the confusion of uncle and his companion. Uncle several times called after the people to come in, but it was of no avail, the sympathetic people were determined not to interfere with the pleasure of what they thought was a newly-married couple, so' the uncle and his relative were left to their blushes and confetti.
