Woman Fined Fifty Pounds.
DUNEDIN, Tuesday. At the Police Court, to-day, a woman named Ella Regan pleaded guilty to a charge of sly grog-selling. The police evidence showed that on Sunday week a constable aud two civilians: went to defendant's house, purchasing six bottles of beer at 2s (id each. Four bottles were, consumed on the premises aud two taken away. The Magistrate, Mr Widdowson, inflicted a"fine of £o() and costs, and refused a request for time to pay.
