Referring to Mi Beatty , s performance as Paul Valmar, the "Adelaide Advertiser remarks: "Mr Harcourt Beatty, of course, was the star artist of the Company, and his re-appearance in Adelaide—which has been on the lip of every lover ot the stage for days past—was a feature of the production. Everyone liked him, from the critic's box to the pit, and his reputation has been earned by the steady development of a rare histrionic" gift. He is not a ranter— far from it. He is one of those actors of the modern school who sec the effect of quiet work, full of feeling, and finished with the true artistic touch His acting of the part of Paul Valniar was really admirable. Every point was made in such a way as to show that he had caught the spirit of the character. " The plans will open at Miss Rive's this morning. For the final night of the season, Saturday, ,luue l))th, the management have decided to stage the famous play of the Company's previous tour, "The Fatal Wedding." with all its alluring features, including the popular children's scene enacted by the same coterie of thirty clever' children in new songs and dances.
