Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co. report : —Our catalogue comprised 1*35 bales wool, ItiOO sheepskins, 550 hides, and 12 casks tallow. There was a full attendance of buyers, and prices for -wool, considering the rough character of the offerings, may be quoted par to a farthing higher than the rates ruling in Ferbuary sale. The catalogues contained mostly late shorn wools, which were all more or less affected with seed and other foreign matter. Some very badly seeded parcels, which were unsaleable last month, were taken to-day at figures which, considering the condition of the wool, must be deemed satisfactory. Skins were very firm, inferior pelted lots showing a' tendency in seller's favour. Hides, which were in good supply, were fairly firm. Tallow sold well "up to late prices for medium, a few lots of better quality making lusher figures. We quote :—Wool.— Crossbred, coarse to medium. The same firm also report that they held their supplementary wool sale on Friday, when they offered a catalogue of about 100 hales, chiefly oddments, seedy aud inferior lots. There was a good attendance of buyers for Home and foreign account, in addition to the usual local scourers and sorters. Prices were a little irregular for the finer wools, but for seedy and inferior fleeces, pieces, locks aud mixed lots the bidding was better than last month at from par to 3 4 d advance. We got 10>od for R aud S cros-sbred and for T G lambs. Our range -of prices was:—Crosbred fleece good !)d to crossbred fleece, aud inferior, 7 : ? 4 d to8?;,d; clean lambs, i)d to seedy and inferior lambs, (Uo'd to pieces, -l J .,d to (>%d ;■ locks, 3d to sd. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held a. supplementary wool sale on Friday, in conjunction with the usual skin" and hide sale. About five hundred bales of wool were offered from all brokers, to which we contributed 140 hales and 18 bags. Prices were somewhat irregular for wool. Good lines realised more than January sale rates, but for shabby and seedy lots prices were somewhat easier.
