Auctioneers' Report.
Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on the Te Rangitumau sale, held on behalf of Mr James Stuckey and Messrs Stuckey .Bros., yesterday, as follows -.—The sale undoubtedly was in the foremost rank of similar dispersal* sales hold in the colony, and without exception the most successful sale held in the Wairarapa. The attendance was large, buyers from all parts of the colony being present, as well as Australia, the North Island being strongly represented, the Feilding district particularly so. Very favourable comment was made on the arrangements for the conduct of the sale, which worked without a, hitch, and the quality of the stock, especially the Southdowns, was particularly admired. Business at auction was keen, and'at times animated, and Mr James Stuckey's flock of 1100 South-
downs made the satisfactory average of £3 4s, and the sons' Lincolns, just over 500 head, £3 4s (id. Shearling Southdown ewes made from 2gns to TJ^jgns; 2-shear ewes, 2gns to 9gns; 3-shoar owes, lgn to 4^gns; 4-shear ewes, l%gns to 5-year-old ewes and over, lgu to 3 ; ewes with lamb at foot, all counted, various ages, lgn to 2^gns; 3-shear ram, "Thickset Ist," purchased by Mr Ernest Short, of Feilding, at 33^gns; 4-shear ram, "Thickset 2nd," purchased by Mr A. Hunter, Hawera, at lSgns; (i-tooth ram (unnamed), purchased by Mr A. J. StoneWigg, Masterton, at 15 guineas. Other stud Southdowns were purchased by Messrs W. and H. Beetham at A. J. Stone-Wigg 25gns, James McGregor J3gns, M. Bailey Bj4'gns and JOgus. Mr Leithead, Takapau, also purchased 4 studs at (igus, Bgns, lOgns, and 33gns. Messrs W. and H. Beetham also purchased stud ram lambs at 3ogus and 25gns, respectively; Mr E. Short, Feilding, one, at and Mr John Strang, Gladstone, one at Other stud ram lambs made from 2)<_;gns to Hgns. Ewe lambs made from to D%giis, Messrs Short and Knight, Feilding, purchasing heavily. Two-shear Lincoln ewes made from J v V 4 gn to 3-shear owes from to sgns, 4-shear ewes lgn to 4%gns, shearling ewes 3gns to ewe lambs lgn ram lambs Jgn to A 2-shear Lincoln stud ram, bred by the New Zealand and Australian Land Company, was purchased by Mr Dalziell, Hunterville, at 27gns. Two-shear Lincolns bred by the same Company were bought by Mr Christoffel, Eltham, at while Messrs Percy Bros., Masterton, after keen competition, secured the 3-shear stud Lincoln bred by Mr James Stuckey at 4(ij4gns. Flock ewes were keenly competed for, East Coast and West Coast buyers strongly opposing one another. Two-tooth Lincolns ewes made 20s (id, 4-tooth ewes 25s \k\, (i-tooth ewes 27s Bd, 4-year old ewes 24s Bd, 5-year and over ewes Kis, ewe lambs 13s 7d to 14s 3d, wether lambs 10s (id, 2-tooth wethers 14s 7d.
