PARLIAMENTARY REPRESENTATION.
Gain For The North Island
Three New Seats In Parliament.
The Representation Commission has finished the first portion of its labours — allotment of the seventy-six European constituencies between the two Island" , . The result is to bear out tho forecast published in the Pout last week— viz., that the North Island will gain three new seats, thus making the total forty-one and reducing, the South Island's total to thirty-five. The Commission is now silting separately to fix the boundaries of the constituencies for each Island, and although no oflicial statement will be made until the close of the Commission's labours, there appears to be very little doubt that one of the new seats will come to Wellington and one to Auckland.
