Parton-Forbes.

A very pretty wedding was celebrated, on Wednesday, at the residence (Adelaide Road, Wellington) of Mr James Forbes, of the Public Works Department, when Mr Albert J. Parton (of Messrs Beale, Parton and Thompson, Masterton) was married to Miss Henrietta (Ettie) Forbes, eldest daughter of Mr J. Forbes. The Rev. W. A. Evans, of the Newtown Congregational Church, officiated. The' bride, who was given away by her father, was handsomely attired in a dress of cream taffeta, trimmed with lace and chiffon, also a spray of orange blossoms, and carried a handsome floral bouquet of pale pink roses, intermingled with maidenhair ferns. Mr Alex. W. Parton (brother of the bridegroom) acted as best man, and Mr E. M. Ryan as groomsman. Miss Alice Forbes and Miss Tissie Parton acted as bridesmaids, their dresses being silk muslin with handsome trimmings. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a handsome gold grannie chain, and to the two bridesmaids lovely gold spray brooches set with rubies and pearls. The reception after the ceremony was attended by a number of guests. Amongst a large number of wedding presents received, was a handsome silver teapot from the bride's fellow-employes, and a silver-mounted biscuit-barrel from the staff of the firm with which the bridegroom is associated.
