THE MANUKAU SEAT.
Mr F. W. Lang's Candidature

Mr F. W. Lang, candidate for Manukau,
addressed a meeting at Tamaki, last night, * Mr W. F. Massey, Leader of the Opposition, presiding. Mr Lang approved the action of the Farmers' Union in regard to the Land Bill. He had always advocated leasehold ■with right to acquire the freehold as a system Buited for the poor man. He received a vote of thanks and confidence. Mr Massey then said that at no time in the history of the colony had it been so necessary to elect an able, strong, honest man to Prosperity covered a multi-JP-tude of sins, and when an era of extravagance appeared to have set in, the tendency of the Government seemed 1 to be to place itself under the control of the Socialistic section of the House, with the result that such measures as the Land Bill were introduced.
