Invercargill, Last Night,
Rev. E. W. Matthews, representing the British and Foreign Sailors' Society in connection with their Victory Court at the Christchurch Exhibition, arrived to-day, and presented the Borough Council with a bust of Lord Nelson in the Victory, in oak and copper. To-morrow Mr Matthews will address the schools and will leave for Dunedin in the afternoon. The object of his mission is to rouse the interest of the young people in the work of his Society by the distribution, at a low price, of attractive souvenirs or charms made from the copper oil the Victory. Mr Matthews brings a larger bust of Nelson for the Exhibition, and it will ultimately find a place in Parliament Buildings.
