The Chairman of tho Comity Council gave it as his opinion, 'at. 1 tho mooting on Saturday, that a portion "of'the Native Reserve at llammi should bo set aside for an experimental farm. The conditions at tho present farms were altogether different from the bush districts, and he thought that the land in question w.-s ominontly adapted for tho purpose. Councillor Dorney thought that the Government could be induced to set aside a portion of the block as a scenic

reserve. The annual meeting of the County Council will bo hold on 28th November. Tho Government are metalling the much needed short-cut to Mangatainoka Valley.
