"masterton borough council. ■\rOTICE is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Masterton Borough Council, held on the sth day of June, 1900, it was resolved (by way of Special Order) that the Masterton" Borough Council make a By-law, under " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900," " The Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1900," and all other enabling powers, the object and purport of which Bylaw are as follows :■- To provide that no person shall carry on business in the Borough as a butcher or vendor or purveyor of meat, or directly or indirectly supply meat to the inhabitants without being licensed so to do by the Council. To provide for the issue of licenses, the date term, and conditions of issue. To provide for refusing or revoking a license if premises dirty or insanitary, if meat unlit for human consumption is sold, or condemned meat sold or offered for sale, or meat known to have been killed and dressed at an improper and insanitary slaughter-house, or not killed and dressed at an Abattoir or Slaughter-house in accordance'with law. or meat not duly passed and inspected by the proper Inspector, etc.; making licensed butchers or vendor, etc., of meat responsible for sales and acts of assistants in shops or premises ; providing for issue and exhibits of placards, stating that all meat sold in such shops is killed at the Abattoir. The said resolution will be submitted for confirmation to the ordinary meeting of the said Council, to bo held at the Council Chambers, Chapel-street, on Tuesday, 10th day of July, 190G, at 7.30 p.m., at which meeting tb<; date of coming into operation of the By-law will be Jixcd. A copy of the proposed Special Order and By-law 'is deposited at the Town Clerk's Office, Chapel-street, where the same will lie open for public inspection, during otUce hours, until the said confirming meeting is held.
