Proposed Steamer Service

Reuter has received a cable to the effect that South African merchants are greatly pleased at the prospects of direct service from New Zealand and are anxiously awaiting news of the projected departure of the first steamer. In this connection enquiries here show that nothing has yet been definitely decided, though it is understood that some of the shipping companies have the matter under consideration.
