ODDFELLOWS LODGE.

The Masterton Oddfellows' Lodge held their quarterly meeting last evening, Bro. P. Smith, N.G., presiding over a large attendance of members. The Wellington [District Committee wrote congratulating the Lodge upon having reached a membership of over one hundred. Two members were initiated into the Order, the duties of Initiating Master being performed by Bro. Dengarde, P.G., of the Harry Cox Lodge, Broken Hill. Four friends were proposed for membership, Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows:—G.M., Bro P. Smith; N.G., Bro D. McKenzie; V.G., Bro 3. Lyall ; E.S., Bro E. McCord ; W., Bro J. McClelland; G., Bro R. Ruxton. It was Unanimously decided that a P.O. Emblem, suitably framed, be presented to Bro Jas. W. Peters in recognition of the valuable services he has rendered the Lodge. With a view to increasing the membership, and as an inducement for members to work in that direction, Bro Joseph Dixon offered to present a gold medal to the member proposing the largest number during the next twelve months. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Bro. Dixon. A fraternal visit is to be paid to the Carterton Lodge at an early date. A presentation of a gold medal was made to Bro. Dengarde, it having been sent on for him by the Harry Cox Lodge in recognition of his services to that Lodge while a member and an officer.
