MR SEDDON'S RECORD.

Referring to the completion of Mr Seddon's thirteenth year as Premier of New Zealand, the Sydney Daily Telegraph says he has achieved " a unique record in colonial political history of which any statesman might well be proud. No man in New Zealand is so beloved, and probably no man will ever again obtain such a hold on the public. On the death of Mr Ballance in when the colony had suffered more or *Wess bitterly, and was seeking the newer and truer political pathway, Richard John Seddon was the man who came with the hour, the prophet for the blind, and few New Zealanders will be found who shall deny that if he did not lead his flock to the Promised Land, he led it to cleaner, greener pastures than it had been used to."
