He was wondering how he would get over tho difficulty when a local identity came to the rescue, and stated that he knew a place where any quantity of gas could be obtained. " Come along with me and I'll fix you up alright." Arrived at the place of operations a stick was stuck into the earth where gas was in abundance. The mouth of the bag was placed over the hole, and for some time the couple waited events. The bag became slightly inflated, but did not seem to fill up as was expected, so they decided to hold a match over tho hole and see if the gas had gone oil. Of course an explosion followed, blowing the gas-bag to piece.-*, while the individuals were turned turtle some yards aAvay. There was no magic-lantern show that evening. The local identity had " fixed up" the proprietor of the show alright, "up" in the air. New Plymouth New*.
