Greytown Stock Sale.
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., held their fortnightly sale at the Greytown yards on Monday, when over 1500 sheep and 100 head of cattle came forward. There was a large attendance of buyers, ancl competition was brisk for all good lines of sheep, but a large number of cull breeding ewes were passed in unsold. Thoro was also a very fair inquiry for cattle, and most were disposed* of under the hammer. Good fat shorn lambs reached 12s Bd, cull lambs 6s 4d, forward 2-tooth ewes and wethers 15s, fat and forward ewes 12s Gd, good mouth empty ewes 10s 6d, a pen of good ewes in lamb 14s 9d, other sound mouth ewes in lamb 10s, cull ewes 4s 10 J, IS-months steers 27s 6d to 325, good Holstein cross (early calves) 17s Gd, ditto heifers 15s, others 12s 6d to 14s Gd, small calves 5s Gd, weaner pigs 5s to 7s.
