Bleaching Properties of Blue. I Blue is used in the laundry for bleaching purposes —to make white clothes whiter. Without blueing the clothes would become yellow. The value of blue in the laundry depends upon its bleaching properties, and the bleaching properties depend upon purity. All blues are not pure. Laundry blue is made up of ultramarine, in combination with glucose, or some other substances, to bind the particles into a nob. It is the ultramarine that is of value, and the quantity of good ultramarine determines its purity. "Royal Blue/ or "Empire Blue," I Royal Blue, or " Empire Blue" as it is more familiarly called, I contains more bleaching properties than any other blue on the market, \ because it contains more good ultramarine. s Royal Blue is used in the laundry attached to the Wellington I Hospital and in man} , of the principal laundries in the colony, because of I its Efficiency and Economy.
