This morning was beautifully fine, and a large number of horses were worked. Quarryman and Signalman ran a mile and-a quarter in 2min 15sec, Signalman apparently holding his stable companion. Achilles covered two circuits at half and threequarter speed. Ghoorka went twice round at half-speed. Glenowlet and To-morrow sprinted over five furlongs in lmin 3.J,sec. Calibre had Golden Knight well beaten over a mile on the plough. Chivalry defeated Boris over six furlongs in lmin 16{sec, the performance being an attractive one. Stepdancer ran a mile and a-quarter on the plough in 2min 13sec—a very creditable performance. Kirriemuier "defeated Stronghold by three lengths over half a mile run in 48sec—-an exceptionally smart performance. Douche and Paritutu galloped a mile and a quarter in 2mi"n llscc, Douche finishing in front. Paritutu performed disappointingly, being vigorously ridden from the straight. Mystification, A r eneer, and Mahutonga ran a mile, the first two finishing together. Mahutonga, although ridden vigorously, failed to keep with them. The time was lminiUsec, neither of the leaders being extended. Solution easily defeated Brighton over five furlongs, the last halfmile taking 48sec, Solution being fully extended at the finish. St. Joe defeated Tirole by ten lengths over a mile on the plough, run in lmin 43;jSec. Zimmerman was better than Mungista at the end of half a mile run in SQsec. Vladimir defeated Starshoot over six furlongs, covered in lmin Tupara had all tho best of a • gallop over a mile with Taxpayer and Graduated Tax. Black Reynard and Ballarat covered five furlongs in lmin 4jsec, and Melodeon and Lyrist ran a mile and a half in 2min 43 l-ssec, Melodeon, who was fully extended, finishing in front, but Lyrist could easily have defeated his companion. Ailsa and Petrovna did steady work. Machine Gun was fully extended over six furlongs, which he ran in lmin 15 l-ssec., He tired perceptibly at the finish. A Yaldhurst quartet—Porcelain, Seal Rock, Edna May and Cream Jug—did steady pacing. Master Alix, Convoy, and Beau Seaton galloped a mile yesterday afternoon in lmin 45£ sec. The first-named had all the best of "the gallop.
