A lady canvasser was fined £1 by Mr C. C. Kettle, S.M., for witnessing enrolment of a claim to vote without seeing the elector sign the form. The penalty was originally fixed at £5, but was reduced, because the defendant is in low circumstances. . . ■ Napier, This Day. His Excellency the Governor and party resumed their journey by motor car to Auckland this morning, the .weather having cleared beautifully.
