CARTERTON NOTES.
{Special to Daily Times.)
The Wairarapa South County Council election for nine councillor? takes place on November Bth.
Three young men, driving in a gig, on Saturday afternoon, met a motor car between Grey town and Carterton, with the result that the horse shied, and the three occupants of the vehicle were thrown on to the road. The splashboard of the gig was broken. Visitors to the Wairarapa and East Coast P. and A. Society's Show are beginning to arrive by almost every train. Given fine weather, the Show promises to be a record in the history of the Society. It is rumoured that Gladstone intend to put a senior football team in the field next next season. At the Methodist Church, on Sunday evening, the Rev. B. H. Ginger preached on the licensing question, taking his text from Isaiah Bth, 10th verse: " Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand, for God is with us."
