A LUDICROUS EXHIBITION.
(Cinematograph's Eccentric
Behaviour.
Writes the Kereru correspondent of the Leyin Farmer :— There was a buzzing and clicking of the apparatus, and then we behold the first film that got in tail first. Wo saw a review at Aider-shot in which all tho horses were parading and galloping tail first; tho riders looking over the stern, and the legs of tho animals assuming an appearance so unlike anything ever seen that words fail lo describe. ' I regretted that I had no camera to take tho pictures as they appeared, fori perceived a fortune in ombryo. The operator was attending lo the light and did not see the sensation ho had given us; the boss was at the door like tho King "counting out his money." At last ho rushed in and used some French words to his assistant and tho sheet of calico suddenly became like the disc of tho moon, for the picture vanished suddenly. The next few pictures were all right, then we were shown a hungry man sitting at a table and eating his dinner. This pleased the boys, because the man appeared to enjoy his meal like a flaxmill hand. The boys insisted on the picture being repeated, when another extraordinary thing happened. The lilm got into the machine the wrong way and the man began with his fork to take out of his mouth morsel by morsel, all that he had swallowed, and put it back upon tho plato until the whole meal-was replaced and ready for another gourmand. Did the boys laugh ? Why, they nearly shook the rafters loose with the rattle of their hoofs and roars of laughter. The boss and his assistant got to high words, and the show came to an untimely end.
