All started but Dandalla. Betting 4to 1 Torah, 5 to I Boabdil, 10 to 1 Maniapoto and Marvel Loch. Shortly after the start the most prominent horses were Troy town, Hatteras, Maniapoto and Torah, and at the back these were joined by Elevo and Harmony. At the railway side Harmony was in command, but Marvel Loch, Warroo and Scott Free were moving up smartly. Scott Free a little later fell. Marvel Loch led into the straight, and coming away full of running won by two lengths from Warroo, who defeated Torah by four lengths. Emir was fourth. Time, 2rein ooljsec.
[Marvel Loch won the A.J.C. Metropolitan Handicap in 1903. On August 19th, this year, at Randwick, she lowered the Australasian record for nine furlongs to Imin 52-Jsec. Marvel Loch incurs a 101b penalty in "the Mebourne Cup, which increases her impost to 9st 41b.j
