Battle Sentenced for Perjury

(Received Last Night, at 11.35 p.m.)

London, Yesterday

Lightfoot, alias Battle, has been sentenced to a year's imprisonment for perjury in connection with the Watt case.

[A cable message dated London 14th inst. was to the effect that during the hearing of the sensational " inciting to murder " case against Hugh Watt, on Thursday, a witness named John Lightfoot said he had previously given false evidence, because the prisoner had induced him to do so. Lightfoot was subsequently committed for trial on the charge of perjury.
