Lord Kitchener's dam is Diamond, by Tam-o'-Shanter, by old Sir Colin Campbell (imp). Diamond's dam was imported from Tasmania by the late Mr Hastwell Diamond took first prize as a mare in regular work and was awarded second prize in brood mare class to the champion mare Darling. Lord Kitchener is a bay horse, of nuggety build, with large bone and muscle, and is of good temperament.
