Commonwealth has already proved his great merit by winning first prizes all over the North Island wherever he has been shown, in the very best of company. His sire, Challenger, was got by that celebrated breeding and showyard sire Glengylo. Commonwealth's dam, Belle of the Isles, is a marc of grand substance, and is proving herself very consistent, breeding highclass stock. Extinguisher took first and champion at Dunedin and at Invercargill A. and P. Show as a 4yr-old—by Young Extinguisher (imp from Scotland by the late N. Nesbit). Young Extinguisher is by Vanquisher. Extinguisher's dam is Maggie McCormaclf, by Sir William Wallace, dam Miss McCormack (imp hy tho late David Nesbit from Tasmania) by Lincolnshire Hero, grand-dam by Black Champion (imp). Lord Kitchener's darn is Diamond, hy Tam-o'-Shanter, by old Sir Colin Campbell (imp). Diamond's dam was imported from Tasmania by the late Mr Hast well- Diamond took first prize as a mare in regular work and was awarded second prize in brood marc class to the champion mare Darling. Lord Kitchener is a bay horse, of nuggely build, with large bone and muscle, and is of good temperament.
