SALE OF A MASTERTON BUSINESS.
The watchmaking and jewellery business conducted in Masterton for many years past by Mr AY. Dougall has been sold to Mr R. Ashton, of Invercargill, who took possession yesterday. In announcing the sale (as per advertisement on~page 3 of this ; issue), Mr Dougall solicits, on behalf of his successor, a continuance of the.liberal support which lias been accorded himself in the past. Mr Ashton at present owns a thriving business in invercargill, and is recognised as a thoroughly-progressive man. The Masterton premises will be closed for a few days, to enable the present stock, to be re-marked, with a view to selling the lot at greatly reduced prices. It is the intention of the new proprietor to open about the Ist November withian entirely new stock of the most up-tc-date goods. ; Mr Ashton has also made a special study of optical work, and intends to place at the disposal of the AVairarapa public a comprehensive stock of optical goods.
