TRESPASSING ON RACECOURSES.
Stiff Penalties

At the Magistrate's Court, to-day, Matthew Barnett was lined £5 for having trespassed on the Riccarton Racecourse on April 24th, and for having neglected to leave after being warned.
On similar charges T. Godfrey was fined £5, and A. Hunt, G. Birchlield, W. Scott, F. Clarke and W. Livingstone were each fined £2.
For a similar offence at Plumpton Park, on June-10th, W. J. Black was fined £5.
Cases against two men were dismissed, as they were acting as clerks to bookmakers, and the regulations do not refer to persons
so acting.
