Last night's debate over the Sneddon voucher is most unsatisfactory. Mr Fisher, instead of backing down, intimated that there still exists a Seddon voucher. The Premier appears to have deprecated further inquiries, and left Mr Fisher " to his conscience, his constituents, and the public." The public will not be satisfied unless the mystery is probed to the bottom. The House ought not to be contented with the present condition of affairs. Instead of Mr Fisher being the defendant, he places, by his further charge, the Premier in this position. We trust the Premier will recognise that the matter cannot rest at this stage. If he allows it to do so, he will subject himself to a suspicion which, for aught we know to the contrary, may be quite undeserved.
