A very well-known resident and contractor, Mr " Micky" Britt, died at 3 a.m., to-day, at his home at Tawataia, after a long illness. The Poultry Association have appointed Mr G. Remington, of Wellington, to judge the poultry at their forthcoming Show, and Mr T. Sowman to judge pigeons and canaries A man, named Reynolds, met with a very ■painful accident at Alberthsen's mill, Nireaha, on Thursday. An axe fell on tke revolving saw, which hurled the axe in Reynolds' direction, striking him on the head. The inj used man was taken to the hospital. The J. C. Williamson Co:npany took £53 at the doors of the Public Hall, on Tuesday night. This, at the price, represented over 600 people.
