The Labour Unions, resent the Full Court's ruling, and intend to appeal to the High Court; also, to ask for an amendment of the Arbitration Act.
[A message, yesterday, stated that the Full Court, on an appeal, decided that the Arbitration Court had no power to make an award that employers requiring labour should give notice to an employes' union or that a non-unionist obtaining employment should be compelled within fourteen clays to join a union. The Court held that this was an attempt to strain the Act against the liberty of the subject, and in making such a provision the Arbitration Court exceeded its jurisdiction.]
