PLUCKY RESCUE BY A WOMAN.

Mrs Bendall, a resident of Oputama, pluekily rescued a Maori woman from drowning in the surf. The Native was crossing the Oputama Creek on horseback when a heavy sea washed her off her horse and carried her out to sea. Mrs Bendall jumped into the sea and rescued her.
