*4fc A very excellent cure for neuralgia is following:—Fill a muslin bog with hot salt. The salt will retain heat a long time, and often this simple application will cause the pain to entirely cease. Headaches are often caused by defective sight, and when this is the case they may
be relieved, it not altogether cured, by wearing spectacles. To prevent the hair falling out, rub sage tea into the scalp every other night. Make the decoction very etrong, and add to it a little rum to prevent it becoming sour. Not the least of the virtues of the fine old English herb lavender is its tonic effect upon excited, trembling nerves, irritability, and irregular flushings—those moments of exhaustion when a woman's feelings are utterly Two or three teaspoonfuls of the tincture in a cupful of hot water, with a slice or two of lemon, make a restorative drink that acts like magic, and puts a woman in possession of her best self, ready to take up her burden, whether of work or pleasure.
