Monthly Meeting,

The monthly meeting of tho Masterton Trust Lands Trust was held last evening. There wero present Messrs C. E. Danioll (Chairman), J. Hessey, T. Michell, E. Feist, and T. Wagg. An apology for absence was received from Mr J. A. Renall.

Correspondence was roceived and dealt with as follows :—

From Mr F, <T. Hunn, applying for the uso of the Town Hall for Sunday evening, for sacred concert. —Granted free of charge, with the exception of gas.

From the Town Clerk, asking for particulars of the agreement entered into between the Borough Council and Trust for a gravel pit on part town acre 48.— It was stated that there was no written document, but that the Borough Council agreed to leave the section level, topdress it with street sweepings, and batter the banks properly.—The Secretary was instructed to inform the Council ac cordingly

From the Poultry Association in reference to the rent charged the Association by the Bifle Volunteers for use of the Drill Hall for the Poultry Show. The writers asked the Trustees to make the charge of £o (which they were willing to pay) for the Show one of the conditions when granting the Volunteers an extended lease of the Hn.ll.

Mr A. Morton, Secretary to the Volunteers, wrote stating terms on which they were willing to let the Poultry Association have the Hall for three nights a year for JE3.

The terms as stated by Mr Morton were considered satisfactory, and the Secretary was instructed to send a copy of the. letter to the Secretary of the Poultry Association

From Mi , G. Blandford, ottering to lease the shop lately occupied by Mr W. Morris, at Kurupuni, at au annual rental of i>23, and to pay all rates and insurances. —Left in the haad3 of the Secretary. The Chairman and Mr Miehell were authorised to have the tho property fenced, and the dwelling papered and otherwise repaired. Mr A. Low applied for a refund ot rent of Town Hall for the gymnasium display.—Decided to refund half the rant, the Gymnasium Committee to pay the gas extra. The Treasurer reported as follow: Dr balance as per bank book, i>779 18s 7d; cr amount ab deposit, i>79B Os sd. Accounts amounting to isi 8s 8d were passed for payment.
