Extinguisher's dam is Maggie McUormack, by Sir William Wallace, dam Miss McCormack (imp. by the late David Nesbit from Tasmania) by Lincolnshire Hero, grand-dam by Black Champion (imp.) Lord Kiichener's dam is Diamond, by Tam-o'-Shanter, by old Sir OoUa Campholl (imp.) Diamond's data was in!-' ported from Tasmanu by the late Mr Hastwell. Diamond took first prize as a mare in regular work and was awarded 2nd priza in brood mire class to the champion mare Darling. NOTICE is hereby given of the intention of the Council at a meeting to be held on the Bth of September, 1904, under the provisions of Sections 148 to 150 of "The Counties Act, 1886," to make the following rates for the year commenced on the Ist day of April, 1904, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1905, on the rateable value of the rateable property within the County, as appearing on the Valuation Roll in force at that date: — A General Rate over the whole County of three-farthings in the . pound. - A Separate rate in the Upper Taueru Riding of one farthing in the pound. A separate rate in the Wainuioru Riding of one-eighth of a penny in the pound. A separate rate in the Alfredton Riding of one-halfpenny in the pound. The said rates will be made payable at the County Office, Hall-street, Masterton, in one sum, on the 26fch day ot September, 1904.
