The quantity of wheat and Hour afloat for the United Kingdom is 8,110,000 quarters; for the Continent, 1,350,0.00 quarters; Atlantic shipments, G5,000 quarters. Two Australian cargoes are sold at 31s and 81s Hd.
The pessimistic crop reports have caused feverish excitement in Chicago, wheat lor September delivery touching 105 1-8 cents, and closing at the highest point. There is a similar movement in New York.
Bank shares. —Bank of New South Wales, L 39 10s ; others unchanged. Copper.—On the spot L572s Gd : three months, L 57 8s 9d. At the tallow sales, 1728 casks were offered and 1240 sold. Mutton, fine, 2Gs 9d ; medium, 2-ls Otl. Beef, fine, 26s ; medium, 21s.
