COLONIAL SANK LIQUIDATION.
Matter Before the Supreme
Court.
{By Telegraph — P/esz Association) Dunedis, Last Night
The Colonial Bank liquidation was before Mr Justice Williams in Chambers in form of an application by Mr Sim, for an order instructing the Official Assignee, as liquidator, to issue a report,
Mr J. MacGregor, for the Wellington shareholders, asked for a postponement to allow a special claim to be presented.
Some discussion took place as to the position, and on the Official Assignee being sent for the Judge asked if there was an order dissolving the Bank. The Official Assignee said there was not. He received notice from the Speaker of the House and postponed making application.
His Honor: But that has nothing to do with your statutory duties under the Act.
In reply, the Official Assignee said there were a number of small cheques for all over the world, and he was advised by the creditors not to apply for a fioal order. After some further discussion as to what the Official Assignee should be asked to report on an order was made, subject to the liquidators' right to apply to the Court on the question of expenses.
