PRICE OF FLOUR.
Oα Thursday a further rise of 10s per ton in the price of flour was announced, so that the price is now f.0.b., or £9 153 ex store. The " hitch " in the reconstruction of the Flour Trust at the end of May resulted in flour being forced down to £7J5s, f.o.b. As soon as the recalcitrant mills came into line, about the end of June, an increase of 15s per ton was made, so that flour stood at JEB f.0.b., or £B J,5s ex store. On 21st July another made —this time of 10s, the £8 10s f.0.b., or .£9 os ex store. The latest rise of 10s makes the third substantial increment since the collapse of the Southern opposition to the combine, and it is not unlikely, in the light of past events, that the end of this month will see flour quoted at 10s or .£9 15s f.0.b., which is £10 5s or £10 10s ex store. Mr A. W. Hogg. M.H.E., has a qiSstion-on-the Order Paper of Parliamentrasking the Government to give the House an" opportunity of discussing the duty on flotir, with a view, of course, of taking off the duty. The rise in the_ price was discussed by the master bakers on Thursday no "decision was arrived at regarding any alteration in. the price of bread.— Post.
