Wk are in receipt of a Government publication entitled, " New York to New Zealand, or the New Century Trip," written by C. W. McMovran, of New York City. It is an excellent compilation, derived from official sources in this Colony; and, at least, our American cousins will look at the very fine illustrations it contains. It is not what may be termed a readable book, written in a popular style and conveying an original impression. 31 is rather a work of reference, containing much valuable information supplied by departments in this Colony and by personal observations. It will probably do a certain amount of good to the Colony, but the N.Z. Official Year Book is eqwal to it in many respects, and superior to it in others. The romance of New Zealand still remains unwritten.
