At the Congregational and Social

Meeting, in the Presbyterian Chnrch, last evening; the Rsv. R. Wood, Chair man, made a presentation to Mr R. J. Young, on behalf of the office-bearers and choir, in recognition of his services as temporary choir-master. The presentation consisted of eight volumes of Helicot's " Commentary on the Bible," a very handsome Oxford Bible, and a travelling rug. The Chairman said they had never had an opportunity of thanking Mr Young for his services till the present one. He stated that Mr Young had carried out his duties in a faithful manner, and the congregation greatly appreciated his services. In his reply, Mr Young said he was very fond of choir work, and his connection with the choir had been a very pleasant one. He would always be willing to help Mr Nicol (the present choir-master), in any way possible in connection with Church matters.

Miss Jessie Hogg was also the recipient dltef a presentation, consisting of an Oxford a collection of Meyers' Works, and another volume, from the congregation for her valuable services as organist

The Chairman, in making the presentation, said that whatever Miss Hogg takes up she does conscientiously and loyally; she was a loyal-hearted and enthusiastic supporter of the Charch. Miss Hogg suitably acknowledged the gift.
