INDECENT ASSAULT.

Three Years in Gaol.

Some Peculiar Circumstances.

(By Telegraph — Press Association), I.NVERCAiiOiLL. Last Night.

la the Supreme Court today, Joseph N. Garron, aged 20, was convicted of an indecent assault, and was sent to gaol for three years, Judge Denniston remarking that the prisoner was not fit to be at large. Jf prisoner's conduct was good, and if he showed some sense of his responsibility, the question of remitting a portion of the sentence might be considered. The remarks of His Honor were directed in regard to doubts as to prisoner's mental stability. He had got drunk for the first time on the night the assault was committed, and boasted about it to all his workmates at the mill in the country. The police arrested another young man tor the offence, and it might have gone hard with him but for Garron's boasting.
