Extensive Undertakings.

The Taupo Totara Timber Company is making considerable progress with its work at "Waipapa, where the mill is already going, and about forty bands are employed. This number will be increased when the timber is placed on the market, and it is calculated that the output will reach 12 million cubic feet a year. The mill is just now busy cutting sleepers for the tramway, which is to be laid down from the mill site to the railway at Putaruru, a distance of about 50 miles. Messrs J. McLean and Co. have the work in hand, and expect to have it concluded by the end of tho year. Six bridges have had to be built already, and four more will be put up.
