Taratahi Stock Sale
Messrs F. H. Wood and Sons, Ltd., report of their weekly sale at Taratahi yards yesterday (Tuesday) : — There was a good yarding of cattle, but only a few sheep. In addition to a special line of cows on account of Mr D. McLauchlan, there was a large catalogue of cows and heifers on account of other vendors. Throughout the sale there was keen competition, all of Mr McLiuchlan's cows soiling under the hamfiler from £8 Via 6d to £5 12s 6d, the sixteen making an average of £7 3a 9d ; and heifers, £6 2s Od'to £3 10s. Several line of stock on other vendors' account were passed in, but before the close of tho sale almost a complete clearance was made. Cows for factory profit sold from £7 15s to £5 55, ; a lino of eight heifers, £5 17s 6d; others, £5 ss: 18-month steers, £3 14s; 18-month heifers, £3 4s to £3. Hoggets, on account of Mr Jas. Smith's estate,, 12s; forward wethers, _4s. ■ ! • ' •
