Death of a Well-known Colonist.
It.is with feelings of deep regret that have to announce the death by enteric of Mr Walter Robinson, aged 40 years, which occurred at his residence at Herrington, near Foxton, on Saturday morning. A complete gloom was cast over the town when the news of Mr Robinson's demise was brought in. He has always been held in great respect throughout the district. Mr Robinson leaves a widow (sister to Mr H. Buxton, the well-known Bailway Traflic Manager) and .five children to mourn their loss. Mr Robinson received part of his edution at Wellington College; subsequently joined the Bank of New Zealand, holding positions in Hawera, Palmerston North, and various other places. Through illhealth, however, he retired from tho service of the Bank, and returned to his home at Foxton. He was an active member of the Foxton Racing Club, and previously a Councillor. Mr Robinson was a son of the late Captain Robinson, one of our pioneer settiers and runholders.—Correspondent.
