Eketahuna Stock Quotations.
Messrs Lowes and lorns, Limited, report as follows with regard to their fortnightly stock sale yesterday:— Sheep were yarded in excess of advertised numbers ; cattle were two lots short. There was a good attendance of buyers, and both sheep and cattle were competed for with spirit. Nearly everything changod hands under the hammer; the few passed in lots soon found buyers privately. We also conducted a clearing salo of dairy cows, on behalf of tho executors of the late B. Syversen, on his property adjoining the sale yards. This was unquestionably the most successful dairy sale this year. Buyers were keen to secure every animal submitted, and prices ranged from £6 2s 6d to £12 2s 6d, making the good average of £8 4s. Wethers made from 12s 10dtol6s; hoggets, a large yarding, 8s 6d to 10s 2d; poor, 6s 9d ; forward ewes, up 'to lis ; cull ewes, 6s. Cattle—lß-month to 2year steers, £3 15s to £5 ls; 3-year steers, £6 10s; yearlings, £2 8s 6d to £2 10s; springing heifers, £5 to £7 for exceptionally good; heifers in calf, £3 19s to £4 15s; cows in calf, £4 2s 6d to £5.
